Tanner Schultheis Named Spartans' Director Of Football Operations

            Tanner Schultheis, a seasoned professional in college football operations, recently joined San Jose State University as the Spartans' director of football operations.
 
            Schultheis comes to San Jose State after two years as Samford University's director of football operations.
 
            "I am extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to join the San Jose State football  program. I look forward to working alongside (Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations) Ben Thienes on our football operations and with our student-athletes, coaches and staff to make this football program the best it can be on and off the field," said Schultheis.
 
            The 2013 Ohio University graduate majored in sports administration and has worked his entire professional career in college football operations. His first assignment was as a recruiting and operations assistant at the University of Akron in 2014. He served as the director of football operations and assistant recruiting coordinator at Robert Morris University during the 2014 through 2016 seasons.
 
            Before joining Samford University, Schultheis worked for USA Football as the national team's operations manager in 2017 and 2018.
 
            At San José State, Schultheis will collaborate with Ben Thienes, who was promoted to assistant athletics director for football operations, in the daily activities of the Spartans' football program.
