Spartans Tabbed To Finish Fifth By MW Coaches In Preseason Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Jose State softball has been picked to finish fifth in the 2021 standings in a league-wide vote by the Mountain West's nine head coaches. The conference made the announcement on Wednesday.

The Spartans are under the helm of first-year head coach Tammy Lohmann, and are looking to build off their COVID-shortened 2020 campaign that saw SJSU finish with a 21-5 record.

San Jose State received 38 points in the poll while Fresno State was selected as the preseason favorite with 64 points (eight first place votes). UNLV (52) was picked to finish second while San Diego State (49) and Boise State (41) were tabbed to finish third and fourth, respectively.
