SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose State women's soccer was unable to keep up with UNLV, falling 3-0 to the Lady Rebels on Sunday afternoon at the Spartan Soccer Complex. The Spartans (0-3) will now hit the road for back-to-back weekends beginning Friday, March 19, with a trip to Nevada.
UNLV (2-0-1) jumped out to an early lead with their first goal coming inside the 13th minute of the opening period. Nailah Harping scored the goal, a trend that continued into the second half as she knocked in the Rebels' two second half goals as well for the hat trick. She scored again in the 57th and 83rd minutes, all unassisted.
The Spartans on the other hand struggled to find many good offensive looks and finished with just a pair of shot attempts. Karlee Pottorff had the best chance inside the 75th minute as she went up for a header off of a cross, but the shot went just high of the top bar. Zoe Aguirre (0-2-0) made her second-straight start in the goal and made six saves against the three goals surrendered.
UNLV finished the game with 16 shot attempts, nine on target, and attempted four corner kicks.
