Evans-Bey Earns MW Men's Track Athlete Of The Week Award

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Josè State's Mehki Evans-Bey has been named the Mountain West Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Evans-Bey, a freshman sprinter from Culver City, Calif. (Culver City HS), helped lead the Spartans to a second-place finish on Saturday at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento. The highlight of his day was a first-place finish in the men's 400m, clocking a time of 47.84. 

The Culver City product then helped the Spartans 4x100 to a first-place finish with a time of 41.97.



This is the first weekly honor of Evans-Bey's career and the second for San Josè State this season. Evans-Bey mark in the 400m is currently the second-best in the Mountain West this season and ranks No. 38 nationally. 

The Spartans will look to continue their hot start to the season when they return to action at the Stanford Invitational on Apr. 2-3.
