San Jose, Calif.—The Spartans hit a season-best .372 as the San José State volleyball team swept San Diego State 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-17) Saturday afternoon in the team's final home match of the spring season.
Allyson Alden led the team in hitting as she hit .700 with eight kills on 11 attempts and no hitting errors. Latahevai Lousi led the team with 16 kills and hit .323 for the match (16-6-31). Haylee Nelson added 13 kills and hit .400 (13-3-25).
The Spartans recorded nine service aces during the match. Ryann Thomison recorded a career-best four aces, followed by Mia Schafer with three and Lousi with two.
S1 – San José State trailed 11-10 and used a 9-5 run to take a 20-15 lead on a Thomison ace. Nelson recorded her fifth kill of the set for the 25-18 win.

S2 – The Spartans fell behind to start the set 5-3. Nelson recorded a kill to edge closer and then served for six points as SJSU took a 10-5 lead. The Aztecs tied the set at 16-16, but San José State maintained the lead, winning the set on back-to-back Schafer service aces 25-18.

S3 – The team led from the first serve of the set and won 25-17 on Lousi's 16th kill of the match.
San José State is now 6-8 on the season. The team plays the final two matches of the spring season next week at Utah State on Thursday and at Wyoming on Saturday.
