Colorado Springs, Colo.—For the second time in three weeks, San José State volleyball player Haylee Nelson has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performances last week.
Nelson helped lead the Spartans to home wins over New Mexico (3-2) and San Diego State (3-0). She hit .342 for the week as she averaged 4.50 kills, 1.88 digs and 5.06 points per set. Against New Mexico, she led the Spartans with a season-best 23 kills and added 10 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. Nelson also posted a career-best four service aces against the Lobos.
In the win over San Diego State, Nelson hit .400 for the match with 13 kills and added five digs and a block.
San José State is 6-8 on the season and plays the final two matches of the season this week at Utah State (4/1) and at Wyoming (4/3).
