San José State University women's tennis player Irena Muradyan and men's soccer player Nicolas Brenes are the Student-Athletes of the Month for February, presented by The Grad San Jose.
Muradyan had a 7-1 record in singles and doubles play in February and helped the Spartans to a 4-0 record. She went 4-0 in singles, winning every match in straight sets and three wins at #3. Muradyan was 3-1 in doubles play, 2-1 with Tamar Culibrk and 1-0 with Raquel Villain Pereira.
Brenes led the men's soccer team with five points in two matches played. He scored two goals and assisted on another. He scored the game-winning goal in the season-opening victory at Dixie State. Brenes leads the team in points (5), goals (2), shots (6) and shots on goal (5).
