NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) have announced the 2020 cross country team academic awards, with both of the San José State men's and women's teams earning All-Academic nods.
To be eligible for the award, a team must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
The San José State women's team recorded a 3.7 GPA during the fall 2020 semester. Meanwhile, the Spartan men's team finished the semester with a 3.36 GPA.
The Spartan women were one of just 45 programs nationally to tally a GPA of 3.7 or better.
This marks the second consecutive year that both Spartan programs have earned the All-Academic honor from the USTFCCCA.
