San José, Calif. – Due to COVID-19 protocols within the Seattle U program, the men's soccer regular season finale scheduled for Friday has been canceled.
The match will not be rescheduled.
San José State will return to action next week at the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas. The Spartans will clinch the tournament's No. 2 seed and a first-round bye if UTRGV is unable to pick up a point in its final match of the regular season on Friday against Incarnate Word.
The No. 2 spot would mark the program's best seed in a conference tournament since SJSU entered the 2003 MPSF Tournament as the event's No. 1 seed.
If the Vaqueros earn a win or draw on Friday, San José State will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed. That would mark the program's best seed in a league tournament since the Spartans were at that same No. 3 spot for the 2009 MPSF Tournament.
SJSU is currently 5-1-2 and is enjoying a six-match unbeaten streak, its longest since the 2009 campaign.
