Colorado Springs, Colo.—Thirteen is not an unlucky number for the San José State women's tennis team as proven on Sunday as the team recorded their 14th win of the season with a 4-3 win at Air Force.
The team stayed at 13 wins for just 24 hours as a similar situation to Saturday played out on Sunday. The outcome came down to #6 singles and Savannah Sendar who has been in this situation in each of the past three singles matches she has played. Sendar won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, to secure the Spartan win.

Sunday did start differently from Saturday's match as SJSU won the doubles point. Sendar and Lara Marco Mas won 6-3, and Alba Pedrero Galindo and Raquel Villan Pereira won 6-1.
Rozalina Youseva lost in straight set, 6-2, 6-2, as Air Force tied the match at 1-1. Irena Muradyan then improved to 13-0 in singles play but needed three sets to win 5-7, 6-1, 6-1. Marco Mas fell in three sets, 6-2, 6-7, 6-1, but Pedrero Galindo won 7-6, 2-6, 6-2, to give San José State a 3-2 lead heading into #5 and #6 singles matches.
Villan Pereira fell in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6 (10-8), leaving the deciding point to Sendar for the third consecutive match.
San José State is now 14-0 on the season and 7-0 in the Mountain West. The Spartans play the final two matches of the 2021 regular season next weekend in Las Vegas. The team faces host UNLV on Friday the 23rd at 10 a.m., and San Diego State on Saturday the 24th at noon.
