Lili Urvari Named To All-MPSF Team

Woodland, Calif.----- San Jose State University senior Lili Urvari was named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) women's water polo team for the second consecutive season. A second-team choice in 2020, Urvari was named an honorable mention honoree for the 2021 season.

Urvari was the one MPSF's most versatile players during the shortened 2021 regular season. Heading into the seven-team conference tournament that starts on  April 30, the fourth-year Spartan ranks second in the MPSF in total assists with 28 and total steals with 34 and leads the conference in both categories on a per match basis.

She is tied for the first on the San Jose State team in field blocks with seven and has 12 goals on the season. Urvari became the 21st Spartan in the history of the sport to reach the 100 career goal plateau when she notched her second of the match in the April 10 contest against #4-ranked Cal. Entering the MPSF Tournament she has 104 career goals.

Urvari is the first San Jose State women's water polo player to be honored at least twice in a career with MPSF honors since 2016. Rae Lekness, the Spartans' career goal scoring leader, was named an honorable mention choice in 2013 and 2014 and a first-team honoree in 2016.

Urvari and her #7-seed San Jose State teammates take on #2-seed UCLA in a first-round MPSF Tournament match at 9:00 a.m. (MST)/9:00 p.m. (PDT). The Pac-12 Network will provide live streaming coverage of the match.
