Spartans Enjoy Big Weekend At Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - The San José State track and field teams returned to action this weekend at the Stanford Invitational as the program continues to build momentum ahead of next month's conference championships. 

The two-day event was highlighted by a school record for senior Daryia Greene and a second-place showing for freshman Mehki Evans-Bey in the men's 400m. 

The Spartans now have six days off before resuming the outdoor season at the Wildflower Invitational on Saturday. 

MEET NOTES

- Senior Daryia Greene placed second and set a school record in the women's 400m, clocking a time of 54.81 seconds. 

- Senior Diamond Tabron took third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 63.35 seconds. Tabron's time is the third-best in school history. 

- The women's 4x400 team finished in second place and clocked a time of 3:46.62. 

- Sprinter Sophie Liao placed sixth in the 100m with a time of 11.98 seconds. 

- Freshman Mehki Evans-Bey finished in second in the 400m with a mark of 47.20 seconds. 

- Senior Xolan Brown took third in the 800m, clocking a time of 1:52.44. 

- Freshman Kyle Jankans continued his strong start to his collegiate career, tying for second with a mark of 2.00m in the high jump.
