Arwefjäll Shoots 77 at NCAA Championships

Scottsdale, Ariz.—San José State women's golfer Kajsa Arwefjäll shot a five-over 77 in the first round of the NCAA Championships Friday at the Grayhawk Golf Course and is tied for 87th in the individual standings.
 
Arwefjäll started the day by shooting a four-over par 40 on her first nine holes. She started the day going bogey-par before making her first of two birdies on the par-four #3 with a short putt for the birdie. Arwefjäll then made bogeys on five of her next six holes, making a birdie on the par-five #7.
 
On the back-nine Friday, Arwefjäll recorded the exact same score on the back-nine as clubhouse leader Rachel Heck from Stanford. Arwefjäll made a bogey on the 10th, before finishing her round with seven made bogeys to shoot a one-over 37.

 
Second round action begins at 7:25 a.m. Saturday for Arwefjäll as she and her playing partners begin their rounds off of the 10th tee.
