Scottsdale, Ariz.—San José State women's golfer Kajsa Arwefjäll shot a one-under 71 in the second round of the NCAA Championships Saturday at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale.
Arwefjäll made a move up the individual standings with her 71 and is now tied for 40th at four-over 148. Her goal is to be one of top nine individuals, not on an advancing team, after Sunday's round to advance to the final round of stroke play on Monday.
Starting her second round on the 10th tee Saturday morning, Arwefjäll opened the round shooting par-par-bogey-par. She then made birdies on the par-four #14 and par-three #16 to go to one-under for her round. She stayed there until a bogey on #1 dropped her back to even par. Arwefjäll then made par on seven of her final eight holes with a birdie on the par-five #7.
