San José, Calif. - San José State combined for 14 hits in Saturday's doubleheader but the effort wasn't enough as New Mexico earned a pair of victories on Saturday at Excite Ballpark.
The Lobos earned a 6-2 win in game one of Saturday's twin-bill before pulling away in the middle innings en route to an 14-2 decision in game two.
The Spartans will return to action and look to get back in the win column on Senior Day against New Mexico. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. in San José on Sunday.
Singles - Game 1 (L, 6-2)
- SJSU jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the bottom half of the fourth as Connor Konishi scored Max Flower with a double to left field.
- Reece Hernandez would score the club's other run of the game, coming in to score on a wild pitch in the eighth.
- First baseman Ruben Ibarra notched his first career triple, tallying the three-bagger in his first at-bat of the afternoon.

- Three Spartans - Trevor Ernt, Ben Polack and Sean Prozell - toed the rubber in game one.
- Both Polack and Prozell were impressive in relief, throwing a combined 2.1 innings of one-hit, shutout baseball.
- The Spartans did not commit an error in the day's lid-lifter.
Singles - Game 2 (L, 14-2)
- Leading off in the bottom half of the first inning, Jackson Forbes notched his first career home run with a powerful blast into the wind and over the wall in right field.
- The Spartans would get their second run of the game later in the frame as Ibarra came in to score on a wild pitch.
- Jack Colette tallied a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 at the dish.
- Ibarra, Forbes and Colette now all lead the club with three-game hit streaks.
- Will Tomlinson, Josh Zanger and Kyle Bratset were the three Spartans to take the mound in game three, combining for four strikeouts on the day.
