Colorado Springs, Colo.—For the 17th consecutive semester, the San José State University women's swimming and diving team has been named a Scholar All-America team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the Spring of 2021.
The team earned the honor after posting a grade point average of 3.26.
"I am honored and thankful to have the opportunity to work with and help guide such an amazing group of student-athletes," said Spartan head coach Sage Hopkins. "Our program places a strong and focused importance on academics as well as career development. This award recognizes the team's focus on continued academic success, and it is gratifying to see our alumni realizing such profound success in their professional lives."
"Coach Hopkins consistently produces winners in the pool and classroom and this year is no exception," stated CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart said in the release of this award. "These are some of the best ambassadors of San José State, and they can and should be proud of these 23 women."
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development.
