Spartans' Jack Snyder Named to Outland Trophy Watch List

Dallas, Texas----- San Jose State University offensive tackle Jack Snyder is the first Spartan named an Outland Trophy watch list in more than 20 years.
 
            Presented since 1946, the annual award recognizes the most outstanding interior offensive lineman on either side of the football. Defensive ends are not eligible for this national award.
 
            Snyder, now in his sixth season with the Spartans, has started 40 games since the 2017 season. He made eight starts in the eight games he played in 2020 and was named a first-team All-Mountain West honoree as San Jose State won the conference championship,
 
             ProFootballFocus.com named Snyder its Mountain West Player of the Year, he only offensive lineman to earn the recognition among the 10 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) conferences. He anchored an offensive line that allowed just eight quarterback sacks in eight games.
 
             A second year master's degree majoring in urban planning and a San José State University graduate who majored in business administration, Snyder has a summer internship with a local real estate investment company. He had previous internships with a San Jose commercial property and casualty insurance company and a property management company.
 
            Snyder is one of 80 players on the 2021 Outland Trophy watch list. The 2021 Outland Trophy recipient is chosen from three finalists named to the annual Football Writers Association of America All-America football team. The winner will be announced during the Home Depot College Football Awards show on ESPN in December. The official presentation will be on January 12, 2022 in Omaha, Neb.
