Coral Springs, Fla.—For the second consecutive year, a school-record number five San José State women's golfers have been named a Women's Golf Coaches' Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar for the 2020-21 season.
Antonia Malate received the honor for the third consecutive year, while Kajsa Arwefjäll and Jadan Gonzalez are two-time recipients. Louisa Carlbom and Jordyn Parr earned their first honors. The five are the most honored since last year when four Spartans received the distintion (Malate, Arwefjäll, Gonzalez and Natasha Andrea Oon).
The five student-athletes made up the Spartans lineup for the eight tournaments played during the 2021 spring season. Arwefjäll was an honorable mention WGCA All-America honoree, while she and Malate were first team All-Mountain West selections. Gonzalez, Carlbom and Parr all had at least one top-25 finish during the season.
They are four of the 1,432 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this honor. To be selected for the All-American Scholar Team, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
