Five Spartans Named To Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List

Mobile, Ala.---- Tight end Derrick Deese, Jr., defensive lineman Cade Hall, linebacker Kyle Harmon, offensive tackle Jack Snyder, and quarterback Nick Starkel are the five San Jose State University football players listed on the 2022 Reese's Senior Bowl watch list.

Started in 1950, the Reese's Senior Bowl now is the second longest running college football postseason all-star game. In the 2021 National League (NFL) draft, 36 players from the most recent Reese's Senior Bowl were selected in the first three rounds.

San Jose State's listed players match San Diego State for the most Mountain West players from one team on the 2022 Reese's Senior Bowl watch list.

Deese, Jr., a semifinalist for the 2020 John Mackey National Tight End Award, is on the 2021 Mackey award list. The Senior Bowl recognition is the latest in multiple watch listings for Hall, Snyder, and Starkel this summer. Harmon was the Spartans' leading tackler in 2020 and a first-team All-Mountain West football player.

Tight end Josh Oliver is the most recent Spartan to play in a Reese's Senior Bowl. After earning first-team All-Mountain West honors in 2018, Oliver concluded his college career playing in the 2019 Reese's Senior Bowl. He became the Jacksonville Jaguars' third round draft choice in 2019 and is in his third NFL season as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.

The 2022 Reese's Senior Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, February 5, at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the University of South Alabama campus. The NFL Network will televise the all-star game.
