National Academic Honors For Men’s Water Polo

Bridgeport, Pa.----- Ten San Jose State University men's water polo players from the 2021 spring season were honored as national All-Academic award winners by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).
 
            To qualify, a student-athlete needed a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
 
            Neil Arnett, Adam Bado, Yahav Fire, and Niels Hofmeijer earned their third ACWPC All-Academic awards. Nick Marchione and Finn Pardon now are two-time award winners. Ary Kamen and 2021 spring freshmen Mark Kis, Connor Macmillan and John Reid round out the San Jose State list of award recipients.
 
            Since the program was reinstated beginning with the 2015 season, 30 Spartans have earned 53 ACWPC All-Academic honors.
 
            San Jose State opens its season, Saturday, September 4, at the University of the Pacific facing the Tigers, Stanford and Fresno Pacific. The Spartans home opener at the SRAC pool is Saturday, September 11. San Jose State hosts UC Davis at 1:00 p.m.; Santa Clara at 4:00 p.m., and Cuesta College in an exhibition match at 5:30 p.m.
