2021 San José State record: 1-1, 0-0 Mountain West. Most recently, the Spartans lost to No. 15/No. 14 USC, 30-7, on September 4.  

2021 Hawai'i record: 1-2, 0-0 Mountain West. Most recently, the Rainbow Warriors lost at Oregon State, 45-27. Hawai'i's first win of the season was a 49-35 victory over Portland State  at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex, the Rainbow Warriors' on-campus home.

Play-by-Play Radio Coverage: KTRB (860 AM, San Francisco) will broadcast the Hawai'i game. Justin Allegri calls the play-by-play. Kevin Richardson provides commentary. The Hawai'i broadcast begins at 9:00 p.m. (PT) with a pregame show. The broadcast also is available on the Varsity Network app.

Television:  FS1 will televise  the Hawai'i game.  Alex Faust calls the play-by-play. Petros Papadakis is the analyst. The FS1 telecast begins at 9:30 p.m. (PT)/6:30 p.m. (HT) and Sunday, September 19, 12:30 a.m. (ET).

FS1 is available on DirecTV Channel 219, DISH Network Channel 150, and  Comcast Cable/Xfinity Channel 408 in Northern California. Check local listings for additional outlets.

Seeking back-to-back wins over Hawai'i: With its 2020 win at Hawai'i, San Jose State seeks to post consecutive wins in the Hawai'i series since the 2011 and 2013 Spartans defeated the Rainbow Warriors.

Spartans with eight consecutive Mountain West victories: San José State takes on Hawai'i possessing the Mountain West's longest active winning streak against conference opponents with eight victories. San Jose State won its final 2019 conference game and at home against Fresno State, its six Mountain West contests in 2020, and defeated Boise State for the 2020 Mountain West championship.

Prior to the current streak, the Spartans' four-game conference winning streak in 2013 was San José State's longest as a Mountain West member.
