FOUR-MATCH HOMESTAND BEGINS THIS WEEK : San José State returns to Spartan Gym for four matches over the next two weeks. This week, the team hosts San Francisco on Thursday and UC San Diego on Saturday. SJSU starts Mountain West play next week with contests versus UNLV and San Diego State. San José State went 0-3 last week in Colorado, falling at Northern Colorado (1-3), at Colorado (0-3) and against Texas Tech (0-3) in the Buffs Invitational.
BUMP, SET, SPIKE
- The countdown is on for Latahevai Lousi to reach 1,000 career kills for her San José State career. She enters the week needing just 8 kills to reach the milestone after moving into 15th place all-time in kills last Saturday. Sitting at 992 kills, Lousi will be the 15th player in school history to record 1,000 career kills.
- Sarah Smevog was named to the Buffs Invitational All-Tournament team for her play in the three matches last weekend. She averaged 4.30 digs and 1.40 assists per set last week.
- The Spartan volleyball roster features two recent graduates of San José State - Latahevai Lousi and Ryann Thomison. Lousi graduated with a degree in communication studies, while Thomison earned her degree in nutritional science.
