After its highest finish in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) poll since program reinstatement in 2015, the San Jose State University men's water polo team opens its 2021 fall season taking on #4-ranked Stanford, host and #7-ranked Pacific, and unranked Fresno Pacific in the Pacific Invitational in Stockton.

The Spartans finished the delayed 2020 season ranked eighth nationally thanks to a win over #5-Pepperdine in a Golden Coast Conference match.

• Since the program returned in 2015, the 2021 fall schedule is the first time San Jose State faces two top-10 ranked teams on its opening weekend.

• San Jose State has 10 returning letter winners led by two-time honorable mention All-America goalkeeper Yahav Fire and senior Niels Hofmeijer

• The 2021 Spartans are the university's most geographically diverse intercollegiate athletics program representing nine countries and provinces - Australia, Canada, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Turkey, and the United States.

• Returning Spartans Nick Marchione, Connor Macmillan, Mark Kis, Utku Karhan, Ary Kamen, Niels Hofmeijer, Yahav Fire, Adam Bado, and Neil Arnett earned the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACPWC) national academic award for the 2020-21 school year.
