Final 54-Hole Husky Invitational Results
BREMERTON, Wash.----- For the San Jose State University men's golf team, the Spartans turned it on for their final nine holes and finished fifth at the Husky Invitational at the Gold Mountain Golf Club's Olympic course.
For San Jose State freshman Nick Watts, who was playing on the adjacent Gold Mountain Cascade course with 44 other players from 14 other schools, he saved the best for last and tied for first place in the Husky Individual Invitational.

• Spartans finished fifth in the 16-team competition with a five-under 859 team score
• Spartans were nine-under par as a team for the final nine holes
• Caleb Shetler was the top Spartan finisher tying for 11th place at four under par 212 (67-75-70)

San Jose State men's golf coach John Kennaday: "It was another very nice flash of brilliance to take note of and build on. I liked the way we played the whole week. We're gaining ground and our best golf is still ahead of us."
Final Husky Individual Invitational Results
• Freshman Nick Watts finishes tied for first in the Husky Individual Invitational on the Cascade course with a 10-under par 206.
• Watts tied for first by making an eagle-3 on the par 5, 18th hole with a chip in from 15 yards away.
• Watts only had one bogey in the 54 hole tournament and played two of the three rounds bogey-free.
• Watts becomes the first San Jose State freshman to finish in first place in a college tournament since Larry Silveira's victory in the 1984 Pacific Coast Athletic Association Championships.
• Matt Heitel tied for 16th place with a one-under 215 and Luigi Wong tying for 20th place at even par 216 also finished in the top-20.
San Jose State men's golf coach John Kennaday: "It was a great win (for Nick). It really was fantastic. Nick's been learning a lot and I'm proud of the progress he is making. He's got grit and we all can use that."
