SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State is set to start WAC action this week, traveling to the Academy to face Air Force on Saturday morning.
SJSU is coming off a stretch of four matches in eight days and is the only team in the nation to play that many contests in an eight-day span this season. Due to both fatigue and injury, only two Spartans who were in the starting 11 for the draw at No. 20 Stanford ended up in the starting lineup eight days later at Pacific.

First Touches
- The defending WAC Tournament champions are off to a 1-4-1 start this season but have earned a result in two of its last three matches (3-3 vs. Cal State Fullerton, 5-1 vs. Evansville). Air Force's last two losses have both come by just one goal. Saturday's tilt will wrap-up a four-match homestand for the Falcons.
- Despite having the nation's toughest travel schedule for conference matches, San José State has seen plenty of success in WAC road contests as of late. The program has earned a result in six of its last seven away fixtures against league opponents and went 3-0-1 a season ago, marking the first year since 2005 (5-0-1) that the program completed a regular season unbeaten on the road.
- Just how far will the Spartans travel the rest of the way? The team will certainly rack up the air miles, going a total of 16,086 miles to play its six conference matches away from home.
- San José State has dominated in recent conference openers, earning a result in eight of its last nine (have won three straight).
- With his 21st minute goal on Sunday night at Pacific, seniorFinlay Woodbecame one of just 15 players nationally to take and make two penalty kicks this season.
