The 2021-22 San José State women's swimming and diving team begins the season on Saturday hosting Nevada in a relay meet starting at 11 a.m. inside the SRAC. Admission is free.
The Spartans return to competition as a full team for the first time since the 2020 Mountain West Championships. The team competed in just three meets (one as an exhibition) for the 2020-21 season because of COVID.
FREE, FLY, DIVE
•The Spartans have 20 swimmers and two divers on this year's team. The team represents six countries – United States (16), South Africa, Romania, Hungary (2), Canada and Switzerland.
•Junior Rebecca Petoe returns after earning All-Mountain West honors last year after finishing eighth in the 100 butterfly at the MW Championships.
•The team is successful in the classroom as they have earned Scholar All-America team recognition by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for 17 consecutive semesters.
