COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Freshmen Taylor Phillips and Kayla Fortenberry scored second-half goals to put San Jose State women's soccer in a prime position to come away with a win over Air Force on Friday evening, however the Falcons scored late goals of their own at the end of regulation and again with just 13 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to escape with the victory. The Spartans (3-6-0, 0-1-0) played an outstanding game in the unforgiving high altitude, finishing with 18 shots, seven on frame.

- After a relatively quiet first half, the Spartans struck first in the 69th minute as Evan House beat two defenders and found a wide open Phillips inside the box for what proved to be her second goal of the season.

- Air Force answered a couple minutes later to tie the game at 1-1, but SJSU regained the lead in the 81st minute. Jada Wilson, seeing her first action of the year since returning from injury, chipped a cross to Fortenberry inside the box who rattled off a shot that hit the post and rebounded back. Fortenberry didn't miss on her follow up shot as she scored her first career goal in a Spartan Kit.

- The Spartans nearly held on in regulation, but Air Force scored on a long goal with just three minutes left to force the match to overtime.
- Neither team saw much success in the first overtime period as the defenses locked down. In the second OT, SJSU nearly ended things as House broke lose and beat the keeper one-on-one, however the shot hit the post.

- Air Force (4-3-1, 1-0-0) ended the game with just :13 remaining as Jordi Ives scored the golden goal.
- The Spartans out-shot Air Force 18-14 and held a 7-6 advantage in shots on frame.
- House led all players with five shots, two on-goal, and was credited with an assist. Fortenberry and Sabrina Weinman each finished with three shots apiece.
The Spartans return to action on Sunday for a noon kick against Colorado College. Kids 12 and under receive free admission and fans can receive a free Spartan rally towel.
