ROCKLIN, Calif. - Daniela Salazar clocked a time of 22:21.3 (6K) in her second race as a Spartan while Omar Pina ran a personal-best time of 26:10.2 (8K) to lead the San José State men's and women's cross country teams at the Sacramento State Invitational on Friday. The meet marked the first of a busy October for the program, a month that will conclude with the Mountain West Championships on Oct. 29.

- Salazar's mark was a personal best and good enough for a 16th-place finish in Rocklin.
- Sophomore Jicel Fernandez finished right behind her teammate, clocking a time of 22:23.3 to place 17th.
- Pina was the other Spartan to finish inside the top-25, leading SJSU on the men's side with his 26:10.2.

- Sophomore Christian Rodriguez rounded out the program's list of personal records on Friday. Rodriguez finished the morning with a mark of 28:32.8.
San José State is set to return to action on Oct. 16 when both the men's and women's programs compete at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, Calif.
