Spartans Complete Final Pre-Championships Tuneup

WOMEN'S RESULTS | MEN'S RESULTS

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Daniela Salazar clocked a time of 21:31.1 (6K) in her third race as a Spartan while Omar Pina ran a personal-best time of 25:46.7 (8K) to lead the San José State men's and women's cross country teams at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday. The meet marked the program's final competition before heading to the Mountain West Championships on Oct. 29.

  • Salazar's mark was a personal best and good enough for a 31st-place finish in Sunnyvale.

  • Sophomore Jicel Fernandez joined her teammate as Spartans to finish inside the top-40, clocking a time of 21:39.9.

  • Fellow sophomore Juliette Noyer continued her strong start to the season, crossing the finish line with a mark of 22:03.3.

  • Pina led the men's side at Baylands Park with his 25:46.7.

San José State is set to return to action in less than two weeks when both the men's and women's programs compete at the Mountain West Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.
