Spartans Finish Fall With Dominant Showing at Stanford Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif.—Three Spartan women's golfers shot par or better in the final round and finished in the top-20 of the Stanford Intercollegiate, and the San José State team recorded the second-best team score in school history as the team finished second on the par-71 Stanford Golf Course.
 

 
•Natasha Andrea Oon recorded her second top-five finish of the fall season as she ended in third place at eight-under 205. She made seven birdies during her final round and 16 for the tournament.
 
•Oon played the third round with Rose Zhang of Stanford, the number-one ranked amateur in the world. Oon shot a five-under 66 on Sunday and was one shot better than Zhang who shot a four-under 67. Zhang won the individual title at 16-under 197.
 
Kajsa Arwefjäll shot a three-under 68 in the final round to finish tied for seventh at three-under 210. She made four birdies during her round and shot two-over over her final 12 holes with two birdies and 10 pars.
 
•Antonia Malate tied for 19th at one-over 214 after recording an even-par 71 in the third round. She made three birdies in the final round and finished the day with pars over eight of her final nine holes.
 
Louisa Carlbom shot a two-over 73 in the third round to tie for 41st at 220, while Lucia Lopez Ortega finished tied for 55th at 223 after recording a 78 in the third round.
 
•For the second consecutive tournament, the Spartans recorded the second-best score in school history. This time, SJSU shot an 846 for the three rounds including a 278 in the final round, which ties for the third-best score in a round in school history.
 
•The Spartans are the only non-Pac 12 school in the top-five of the team standings and only non-Power Five school in the top-14. Stanford won the tournament at 28-under par, 824.
 
•San José State began the tournament ranked in the top-25 in two different polls. The team is 18th in the Golfweek rankings and 21st in the Division I Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll.
