UNLV record: 0-6, 0-2 Mountain West. Most recently, the Rebels lost to Utah State, 28-24, at home on October 16. UNLV's last win was a 33-30 overtime victory over Nevada on November 30, 2019.

Series history: San José State leads the series, 17-7-1. The home team has won the last five meetings between these teams including San Jose State's 34-17 triumph in 2020 at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose.
The Spartans' last win in the series in Las Vegas was a 33-27 overtime victory on October 10, 2015. San Jose State is 7-5 against UNLV in games played in Las Vegas.
Playing indoors: For the eighth time, San Jose State will play a football game indoors when the Spartans take on UNLV in Allegiant Stadium. San Jose State has a record of 5-3 in games played under a closed roof.
A San Jose State first since 1975: For the first time since 1975, San Jose State played a game in which no touchdowns were scored by either team in any of the four quarters in its recent 19-13 double-overtime loss to San Diego State. At the end of four quarters, the score was tied 6-6 with each team converting two of three field goal tries.
Regaining the .500 mark: A San Jose State win over UNLV would give the Spartans a perch on the .500 win-loss percentage mark for the season. SJSU's record this season includes stops at 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3.
What's the point?: The 12 points scored in the first four quarters in the San Jose State-San Diego State game are the fewest points and the only Football Bowl Subdivision game without a touchdown in regulation time in the 2021 season in games played through October 16.
What are they doing?: San Jose State offensive tackles Jack Snyder and Jaime Navarro each have handled the football this season. Navarro caught a deflected pass in the Western Michigan game for minus-6 yards. Snyder handled a lateral pass in the San Diego State game and was credited with 1 rushing yard.
