LAS VEGAS - Senior team captain Karlee Pottorff attempted a team-best three shots in San Jose State's 1-0 loss to UNLV on Friday evening as the Spartans dropped the front end of their two-game Nevada road trip. SJSU (7-9-1, 4-4-1) will look to bounce back on Sunday against Nevada in Reno in the Spartans' second-to-last regular-season match of 2021.
- The Spartans played another solid defensive game as they limited the Rebels to four shots on-goal and 14 total attempts.
- The lone score of the night came in the 39th minute on a free kick near the SJSU box. UNLV's Lourdes Bosch tucked an attempt off the kick past the Spartan wall of defenders and into the right bottom corner of the net for the game-winning score.
- Pottorff, Maddie Toomer and Jaiden McClellan played all 90 minutes.
- The Spartans had eight shot attempts with three on-goal off the feet of Pottorff, McClellan and Jada Wilson.
- Autum Monty made three saves in 73 minutes of game action. Shayla Sugai took over for the remaining 17 minutes as the duo combined for a second-half shutout.
