San José State returns home this weekend for the final two home matches of the season against Chicago State Friday night and Houston Baptist on Sunday afternoon. The team returns to the Spartan Soccer Complex after picking up wins last week at UTRGV and Incarnate Word.
FIRST TOUCHES
- The Spartans have an unbeaten streak of seven matches, marking the programs best since a stretch of eight straight results in 2009.
- What all this means is October is a great month to be a Spartan as the team has not lost this month! The Spartans have not suffered a loss during the first 28 days in October. The Spartans have a 6-0-1 record during the month, the tie coming at Cal Baptist on the 9th.
- Kasper Poulsgaard was rewarded for his defensive play in Texas as he was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He helped lead the Spartans to a Texas sweep of UTRGV and Incarnate Word last week. Helping anchor a Spartan back line that's been strong all season, the defender spent all 180 minutes on the pitch as the team allowed just one goal across the two matches.
-
This year's senior class will be honored at Sunday's match with the Huskies.
