Spartans Conclude Competition at Mountain West Cross Country Championships

MEN'S 8K RESULTS | WOMEN'S 6K RESULTS

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.
- Daniela Salazar ran a time of 21:47.7 in the women's 6K, while Christian Moreno clocked a time of 28:24.4 in the men's 8K to lead the San José State men's and women's cross country teams at the Mountain West Championships on Friday at the UNM North Golf Course. The Spartans finished ninth in both the men's and women's races.

  • Salazar tallied a 58th-place finish with her time of 21:47.7 in one of the fastest races in the country that included numerous top-15 teams
  • Moreno earned a 68th-place finish, just ahead of teammate Omar Pina (28:29.9) in the men's 8K race
  • The women's team finished 9-of-11 teams as No. 1 New Mexico took home its 14th consecutive conference title with an impressive 15 points
  • No. 11 Air Force won its second straight championship in the men's 8K race with 27 points
  • Leslee Patino ran a personal-best time of 25:31.2 in the women's 6K race for the Spartans
