- Bolden scored the opener in Norco, tapping home a loose ball in the box with his right foot in the 19th minute. Senior Rudi Castro started the sequence with a perfectly-taken corner kick, finding Willy Miranda next to goal. Miranda was able to head the ball to the post where it found the foot of Bolden.
- Reigning WAC Defensive Player of the Week David Sweeney spent all 110 minutes in goal for the Spartans (5-5-2, 3-1-1 WAC). Sweeney faced 17 shots on the day and made five saves against the Lancers (7-2-3, 2-1-2).
- SJSU ended the afternoon with nine total shots (four on frame). Castro led the Spartans with three shots.
- Going to extra time for just the second time this season, San José State did have a great look at ending the match in the 99th minute but senior Max Allen saw his shot on goal saved by the California Baptist keeper.
- SJSU's 3-1-1 start to conference play is their best through five league matches since 2018 (also started 3-1-1).
With their unbeaten streak now at a season-long four matches, the Spartans will look to stay hot when they host No. 17 Grand Canyon on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Spartan Soccer Complex.
