PHOENIX, Ariz. - Willy Miranda completed the comeback with the game-winning goal in the 55th minute and Ryota Nakashima posted a goal and an assist to lead the fourth-seeded San José State Spartans (10-6-3) to a come-from-behind victory over No. 5 seed Utah Valley (9-6-2), 4-3, in the quarterfinals of the WAC Championship at GCU Stadium on Wednesday. The Spartans trailed by two goals early, but scored three unanswered to advance to the semifinals on Friday.

- UVU scored in the third and 13th minutes to lead SJSU 2-0
- The Spartans' Max Allen scored a beautiful goal on a penalty kick in the 20th minute
- The Wolverines took a 3-1 lead in the 22nd minute
- SJSU's Nakashima made it 3-2 in the 28th minute on a nifty pass by Omar Lemus
- Rudi Castro would tie the game in the 41st minute on a #SCtop10 curling shot to the upper left-hand corner on a free kick outside the box
- The Spartans carried play in the second half and Miranda tallied the game winner on a fantastic one-touch feed by Nakashima
- San José State advances to the semifinals of the WAC Championship for the first time since 2019 and will take on No. 1 seed Grand Canyon on Friday at 3:30 p.m. PT
- The Spartans defeated then-No. 10 Grand Canyon in San Jose, 2-1, on Oct. 16
