SAN JOSE, Calif.—For the third time this season, four Spartan volleyball players have recorded double-digit kills in a match to lead San José State to a 3-1 win over Utah State Thursday evening in a Mountain West match inside Spartan Gym.

•Letizia Cammillucci led all hitters with a career-best 19 kills and added eight digs on the night.

•Haylee Nelson added 14 kills and eight digs in the match. She moved up the San José State career kills list and is now 14th all-time with 1,067 kills, passing Hanah Blume at 1,064.

•Latahevai Lousi and Ryann Thomison each had 13 kills. Lousi had a season-best nine digs and two blocks, while Thomison hit .379 for the match (13-2-29).

•Mia Schafer recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 48 assists and a career-high 19 digs.

•For the sixth time this season, Sarah Smevog recorded 20-plus digs in a match as she had 21 digs in the win. She has accomplished the feat 17 times in her career.

•Tough Spartan serving was key to the win. After not recording one ace in the team's previous match, San José State recorded a season-best 14 aces in the win, led by Smevog with four, Madeline Boerstra and Lousi with three each and Nelson and Schafer with two a piece.

•With the win, San José State clinches a spot in the MW Championship, November 24-26, in Las Vegas. The Spartans are currently tied with Utah State for second-place in the standings at 11-4.

•San José State improves to 17-8 on the season, the most wins since the 2017 season. The 11 MW wins ties with the 2018 team for the most conference wins since joining in 2013.
