COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—San José State volleyball players Letizia Cammillucci and Sarah Smevog have been named the Mountain West Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for their play November 11-13.
 

 
Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week
Letizia Cammillucci, OH, Padova, Italy
*Hit .298 for the week with 39 kills and 20 digs
*Averaged 4.88 kills, 2.50 digs, 0.25 assists, 0.25 aces, 0.25 blocks and 5.25 points per set as San José State went 2-0 on the week and clinched a spot at the 2021 MW Championship Tournament
*Led the Spartans in kills in both wins
*19 kills and eight digs in a win over Utah State
*Second double-double of the season with a career-high 20 kills and 12 digs in the win over Boise State
*Helped San José State win its 12 MW match of the year, the most MW wins in a season since joining the conference in 2013
 
Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week
Sarah Smevog, L, Corona, Calif.
*Averaged 5.38 digs, 1.38 assists and 0.50 aces per set
*21 digs, five assists and a team-high 4 service aces in the win over Utah State
*22 digs and six assists in the win over Boise State
*Recorded 16 of her 22 digs in the first two sets of the match against the Broncos
*Sixth and seventh times this season she recorded 20+ digs in a match
*Has recorded 20 or more digs in 18 matches in her career
 
San José State is 18-8 on the season and 12-4 in the MW, recording the most MW wins in a season since joining the conference in 2013. The Spartans play the final two matches of the regular season this week as the team plays at UNLV on Thursday and at San Diego on Saturday.
