  • Every Mountain West match is a big match in determining seeding for the 2021 MW Championship, November 24-26. The Spartans are currently tied for second with Utah State, while UNLV is two matches behind in fourth place. The top-six teams advance to the tournament in Las Vegas at the Cox Pavilion. San José State clinched a spot last week with the team's 3-1 win over Utah State.
  • San José State swept UNLV in the team's MW season opener in September. The Spartans have not won at UNLV since 2017.
  • The Spartans also swept San Diego State in September. The team last won in Peterson Gym in 2018.
  • The 18 wins are the most for the Spartans since the 2017 team won 17 matches. The 2006 team finished the season at 19-12, and the last 20-win season was 2001 when the Spartans had a 25-8 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
  •  With the 3-1 win over Boise State on November 13, the Spartans entered a new realm by winning the program's 12th Mountain West win, the most by the Spartans since joining the conference in 2013.
