  • The Spartans face Boise State for the third time this season after winning the two earlier meetings, 3-2 in Boise on September 30, and 3-1 in San Jose on November 13.
  • With 19 wins this season, the Spartans have recorded the most wins in a season since the 2006 team finished 19-12 on the year. That team advanced to the semifinal match of the WAC Tournament and featured libero Jessie Shull, the Spartan career digs leader with 2.260 digs.
  • The Spartans finished the conference season with a 13-5 record, the most MW wins in school history. SJSU finished in third place, the highest finish in the MW for the program and  conference finish for a Spartan team since 1999-2001 when the team was second in the WAC each of those years. The Spartans last won 13 conference matches during the 2000 season when the team finished 13-3 and in second place in the WAC.
  • With the return of the MW Tournament, the San José State volleyball program will play in its fourth conference tournament in school history. The program played in the NorPac Tournament in 1982 (1-1) and 1984 (2-1), the PCAA Tournament in 1986 (1-1) and the Western Athletic Conference Tournament 13 times (11-13). At the WAC Tournament, the Spartans played in the semifinal match six times and the championship match twice against Hawaii - 2001 & 2003.
  • The Spartans are 5-1 in five-set matches this season, the only loss coming to Wyoming at home. San José State won three five-set matches in October and the first match of November - at New Mexico, at Nevada, home to Fresno State and at Wyoming. The other five-set win came at Boise State on September 30 as SJSU rallied for the 3-2 win on an Amethyst Harper service ace.
