San José State Athletics Adds Toni Bianco and Sky Kerstein to External Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. – In an effort to increase digital media output, San José State Athletics announces the addition of Toni Bianco and Sky Kerstein to the Media Relations office. Kerstein will serve as the Director of Multimedia, while Bianco joins the staff as a Multimedia Specialist.
 
"As we reimagine our external and media relations team, it was important to find two highly skilled digital media personnel like Sky and Toni," said Scott MacDonald, Deputy AD for PR and Content Strategy. "Sky has over a decade of experience as a multimedia journalist for television stations in Washington, D.C. and Detroit, while Toni graduated from one of the most well-respected broadcast journalism schools in the country, Syracuse, and her experience with the ACC Network will allow us to continue to provide our fans with strong content on our social media platforms and SJSUspartans.com."
 
Sky Kerstein, Director of Multimedia

  • Will serve as primary contact for men's basketball and baseball, and assist with football and other sports for the remainder of 2021-22 season
  • Created strategic relationships within the Boston media market including local TV, radio and print reporters
  • Produced video content and scripts for local television stations in Boston
  • Worked in three top-15 media markets in Washington, D.C., Boston and Detroit
  • Spent last two years as Senior Director of Athletics Communications and Broadcasting at Northeastern
  • Previously worked for Detroit's WJBK-TV (Fox 2) as sports producer and multimedia journalist (2015-19)
  • On-air multimedia reporter for the Washington Redskins (2014) and on-air sports TV analyst in Washington, D.C. (2009-14) for local colleges, high schools and professional sports, including the Washington Capitals, Redskins, Nationals and Wizards

 
Toni Bianco, Multimedia Specialist

  • Will serve as primary contact for women's basketball, softball and track and field for the remainder of 2021-22
  • Graduated from one of the top Broadcast Journalism schools in the country, Syracuse, in 2021
  • Spent the last five months working as an Athletic Communications Assistant at UC San Diego
  • Produced video content for social media platforms and ran Tritoncast, a podcast for UC San Diego athletics
  • Worked with the ACC Network and in the Athletics Communications office at Syracuse, covering various sports
  • Spent time as the No. 2 women's basketball contact at Syracuse
