Carl Corpus Makes Cut At Asian-Pacific Amateur Championship

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates ----- San Jose State University Carl Corpus is one of 50 golfers to make the cut after 36 holes of competition at the 12th Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.
 
            Representing the Philippines, Corpus posted identical scores of one-under par 70 in each of the first two rounds for a two-under par 140 total on the par 71 course and is tied for 22nd place. Bo Jin of China is the tournament leader at eight-under par 134, six shots ahead of Corpus.
 
            A score of two-over par 144 or better was needed to qualify for the final 36 holes.
 
            Amateur golfers from 28 countries began challenging for the championship. The winner earns a berth in The Masters scheduled for April 7-10, at the Augusta (Ga.) National Golf Club.
 
            ESPN2 is providing three hours each day of third and fourth round coverage beginning at 2:00 a.m. (PT) on November 5 and at the same time on November 6. Action also will be streamed on aacgolf.com.
