Spartans Winning Streak Ends At MW Leader

FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Latahevai Lousi led the Spartan hitters with 10 kills, but the San José State volleyball team saw their seven-match winning streak fall at Mountain West leader Colorado State, 3-0, Saturday afternoon inside Moby Arena.
 

 
•Lousi was the only Spartan with double-digit kills and hit .250 for the match.
 
•Haylee Nelson added nine kills and seven digs for the Spartans.
 
•Ryann Thomison hit a team-best .385 in the match with six kills on 13 attempts and only one error. She also led SJSU with three block assists.
 
•Sarah Smevog led the defense with 10 digs, followed by Letizia Cammillucci with nine digs.
 
•For the first time this season, San José State did not record a service ace in a match.
 
•The Spartans only leads of the match occurred in the second set. There were three lead changes in the set, and the Spartans final lead was 20-19, before the Rams scored six of the final nine points.
 
San José State returns home next week for matches against Utah State on Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. and Boise State on Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. Tickets for all matches can be purchased at the door inside the YUH Complex on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets.
