SAN JOSE, Calif. – Omari Moore had 18 points while Tibet Görener added 14 to help lead San José State (3-3) in a 61-52 win over South Dakota (4-3) from the Provident Credit Union Event Center Tuesday night to stay undefeated at home.
The Spartans got off to a great start and led by 19 at one point in the second half, but the Coyotes came back late to make it close until the Spartans ended on a 15-9 run to put the game out of reach which included two huge dunks by Moore and Shon Robinson.
- The Spartans are now 3-0 on the season at home and have a two-game win streak
- Moore shot 7-for-16 from the field with a pair of three's while adding six boards
- Görener tied his career-high with four made 3-pointers and also tied his career-high with 14 points
- Robinson shot 50% from the field and from three on his way to 10 points and a career-best eight rebounds
- Ibrahima Diallo went 5-for-8 from the field with 10 points and two big blocks
- Trey Smith tied his season-high with five helpers
- The Spartans shot 44% from the field and 40% from three while holding South Dakota to 37% shooting from the field
- The 19-point lead was the largest lead the Spartans have had this season
- The 52 points from South Dakota was the lowest amount the Spartans have given up since December 3, 2016 when they held Santa Clara to 40 in a 55-40 win
- The Coyotes were averaging 19 points from the free throw line and were held to three
