November Student Athletes of the Month Announced

The San José State Student-Athletes of the Month for November are women's swimmer Réka Kovács and men's water polo player Yahav Fire, presented by CEFCU.

Réka Kovács, Women's Swimming, Jr., Székesfehérvár, Hungary
•Put herself in the San José State top-10 all-time best times at the Mizzou Invite
•Second in the 200 butterfly at the Mizzou Invite with a time of 1:59.05, the second-fastest time in San José State history. Missed the school record by .02.
•That time ranks 74th nationally and second in the Mountain West in the 200 butterfly. Only one of three MW swimmers to record a sub two-minute time this season.
•12th in the 200 Free at 1:49.98, the 10th-best time in school history and the 11-best time in the MW this season
•20th in the 500 free with a time of 4:58.25, 11th fastest time in school history
 
Yahav Fire, Men's Water Polo, Sr., Haifa, Israel
•Named a first-team All-Golden Coast Conference selection
•Averaged 10.5 saves per match in four matches (two regular season & two conference tournament matches)
•Had at least one steal in each of the four matches and six steals total for the four matches
•Credited with 14 saves in San Jose State's 10-8 win over Pepperdine in the first-round of the Golden Coast Conference tournament
•First Spartan win in a conference tournament since the sport was reinstated in 2015
•11 saves in an 8-4 loss to conference tournament champion Long Beach State in the semifinal round
•Eight goals allowed matched the fewest scored by Long Beach State in a match in the 49ers' last 15 contests
•Named to the Golden Coast Conference all-tournament team
