SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Cydni Lewis shot 50 percent for a game-high 22 points in Wednesday night's neutral site contest. The Spartans battled to the end in a 74-66 loss to UC Irvine at the Kaiser Permanente Arena. Lewis added seven rebounds and tied a career-high four blocks in the loss.
San José State hosted the Anteaters at the home of the Santa Cruz Warriors due to the university utilizing the Provident Credit Union Event Center for Commencement this week.

- San José State limited UC Irvine to just eight percent shooting in the first quarter
- Stephanie Torres tallied 16 points and three assists for her third double figure scoring game of the season
- The Spartans cut the deficit to six with seven minutes remaining, but a 7-0 Anteater run extended their lead back to 13

San José State is back in the Event Center on Tuesday, December 21 for a double header. The Spartan women will tip off at 4:00 p.m. against UC Santa Barbara and the men will follow at 7:00 when they host Santa Clara.
