PORTLAND, Ore. – Trey Smith had a career-high 24 points and eight 3-pointers to lead San José State (6-4) in a 90-78 win at Portland (8-5) from the Chiles Center Friday evening for their first road win of the season.

- Smith ties Noah Baumann's team record (2019) with eight 3-pointers in a game
- It is the fifth game this season the Spartans have 10 or more 3-pointers in a game

- It is the Spartans fifth win in their last six games
- The six wins this season by the Spartans are more than last season's team and one behind the 2019-20 team
- SJSU had a season-high six in double figures and two with double-doubles
- The 90 points are the most the Spartans have scored in a game this season
- Trey Anderson had 15 points with a career-high 12 rebounds for his first career double-double
- Omari Moore added 13 points and 10 boards for his first double-double this season
- Tibet Gorener hit 3-of-6 from three to stay at 50 percent on the season from deep and had 11 points on the night
- Alvaro Cardenas went 3-of-4 from deep with 12 points
- It is the first win for the Spartans in Portland since Dec. 14, 1996 and their first win overall against the Pilots since Nov. 11, 2005
- Portland came in to the game leading the NCAA in free throw makes and fourth in free throw attempts and went 7-of-11 from the line against the Spartans
