Spartans Dominate Second Half to Stay Undefeated at Home

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Trey Anderson tied a career-high with 17 points and had a career high eight rebounds, while Trey Smith had 17 points to lead San José State (4-3) in a 76-51 win against North Dakota (3-6) from the Provident Credit Union Event Center Friday night for their fourth straight home victory to start the season.

The Spartans were up by one at the half, but came out in the second half on a 25-6 run to put the game out of reach.
 

  • It is the first time the Spartans have won their first four games at home to start a season since 2013 and their first three-game winning streak this season
  • The Spartans 28 point lead was their biggest lead of the season and their 25 point win was their first double-digit win of the season
  • Anderson went 7-for-12 from the field and three-of-six (tied career high) from three in the near double-double
  • Anderson added a career-high two blocked shots in the win
  • Smith went 7-for-13 from the field and 3-of-8 from three for 17 and tied a career-high with five assists
  • Omari Moore added 13 points with seven helpers
  • Shon Robinson went 4-of-7 from the field with eight points and six rebounds
  • Alvaro Cardenas had 10 points in just over 33 minutes of work
  • Ibrahima Diallo added 12 boards and a career-high three blocks in the win
  • Myron (MJ) Amey, Jr. had his first career points including a three and ended with five on the night
  • The 49 second half points were the most the Spartans have scored in a half this season and they outscored the Fighting Hawks 49-25 in the half
  • The Spartans shot 63.3% in the second half and 58.3% from deep
  • The Spartans defense held North Dakota to 26.3% from the field and the lowest amount of points they've given up since December 3, 2016 when they held Santa Clara to 40 in a 55-40 win
  • It was the Spartans first 25 or more points Division I victory since February 27, 2010 when they defeated Fresno State at home, 72-45
