MALIBU, Calif. – Alvaro Cardenas had a career-high 14 to lead San José State (4-4) in an 82-69 loss on the road against Pepperdine (3-8) from Firestone Fieldhouse Monday night.

- The Spartans outscored Pepperdine 41-36 in the second half
- The lost snaps a season-high three game winning streak
- Cardenas added a career best four 3-pointers in his third start of the season
- Omari Moore had 13 points to go along with nine rebounds
- Shon Robinson put in 10 with six boards
- Ibrahima Diallo had 10 rebounds with eight points
- The Spartans shot just under 91 percent from the free throw line
