San Jose State Football Spring Activities On Pause

The San Jose State University (SJSU) football program is pausing its spring semester in-person, team-related activities due to COVID-19 cases and contact tracing within the program.

The Spartans' spring practice, an opportunity to conduct 15 practice opportunities as permitted by the NCAA, has not started.

Input from county and SJSU medical experts with the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff as the highest priority will be the basis for the team's return to in-person activities. The list of activities includes a date and time for a Spring Game streamed live from CEFCU Stadium without spectators.

Since the start of the calendar year, football student-athletes, coaches and staff have tested three times a week and completed online forms daily to identify potential COVID-19  cases.
